Letreo privacy

Updated on September 10, 2026

Letreo runs entirely inside your iPhone: no account, no ads, no tracking, and no internet access at all.

Who is responsible

Letreo is published by LEVELHARD, of Roque Ribeiro da Silva, and distributed through the App Store. Data protection contact, and the address for anything about this policy: roque.ribeiro@levelhard.com.br.

There is no account, and there is no network

There is no sign-up, login, password or profile. The app never asks for your name, email, phone number or any document. More than that: Letreo makes no internet connection at all. There is no server, no API and no usage analytics service. Everything happens on the device, including in airplane mode.

The microphone, in Beat mode

Beat mode makes the light pulse with the music, so the app needs to hear the room; the iPhone asks for your permission the first time. Sound is read in real time and turned, in the same instant, into a single number: the loudness. The audio is never recorded, not even temporarily, and never sent anywhere. No speech, music or person recognition is performed. Declining is a legitimate choice: the marquee, the teleprompter and the other light modes keep working without the microphone.

The torch

Show mode can use the torch LED as a stage light. To switch that LED on and off the system requires access to the camera device, which is where the torch lives on the iPhone. Letreo uses that access only to turn the torch on and off: no capture session is opened, no photo or video is recorded, and the app does not ask for camera permission precisely because it captures no image.

What stays on your device

The last setup of the marquee, the show and the teleprompter (message text, script, color, speed, font size, mode, light output, mirror) and the mark that you have read the photosensitivity warning, so it does not reappear on every use. All of it lives in the app's private area and disappears when you uninstall. There is no copy on any server, because there is no server.

Sharing a message

When you share, Letreo renders an image of your marquee and hands it to the iPhone's own share sheet. You choose the destination, and the app you pick follows its own policy. Letreo does not log what was shared or where.

Photosensitivity warning

Show mode flashes the screen at up to about 14 times per second, and the torch at up to about 7. Flashing lights can trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy, even with no prior history. The app shows this warning and requires you to acknowledge it before the first entry into Show mode.

What Letreo does not do

No ads. No usage analytics, third-party SDKs or crash reporting services. No tracking across apps or websites, so no tracking permission is requested. No access to contacts, photos, location, calendar, health or files. Nothing is shared with third parties, because nothing is collected.

Children

Letreo is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, of any age. Because of the flashing lights, Show mode should be used by children only with an adult present.

Your rights

Data protection law (LGPD, Brazil, and equivalents elsewhere) grants access, correction, anonymization, portability and deletion of your personal data, and the withdrawal of consent. Since Letreo neither collects nor transmits anything, there is no database about you: uninstalling the app deletes everything it kept, and the microphone permission can be revoked at any time in Settings, Privacy & Security, Microphone. Questions: roque.ribeiro@levelhard.com.br. Replies within 15 days.

Changes to this policy

If the app changes in a way that affects this policy, the text changes with it and the date at the top is updated. The current version is always the one published on this page, which is the one cited on Letreo's App Store listing.
