Garfada Privacy

Garfada is a food diary that runs entirely inside your iPhone: no sign-up, no ads, no tracking, and nothing is sent to any server. What you log about your food, your dietitian's plan, your lab results and your body composition stay on the device only.
Who is responsible
Garfada is published by LEVELHARD, of Roque Ribeiro da Silva, and distributed through the App Store. Data protection officer (LGPD) and contact for anything about this policy: roque.ribeiro@levelhard.com.br.
There is no account, and no network
There is no sign-up, login, password or cloud profile. The app does not ask for your email, phone or any document. Garfada does not talk to the internet: there is no server, no API and no analytics service. Everything happens on the device, airplane mode included.
What stays on your device
The name you choose to be called, weight, height, age, biological sex, activity level and goal (used only to compute your daily target), the foods and water you log, the meal plan you imported, the lab results and body composition assessments you imported, the memories you confirmed for the assistant, and your trophies and level. All of it lives in the app's private area and is gone when you uninstall. There is no copy on any server, because there is no server. Garfada does not use iCloud or the Health app in this version.
Health data
Weight, food, lab results and body composition are sensitive information, and that is exactly why Garfada does not transmit them. Imported lab results and body composition are stored and shown as they were read, with a date; the app does not interpret them, does not flag values as high or low and does not suggest treatment. Nutrition values and the target are estimates computed from public tables (TACO, from NEPA/UNICAMP, and IBGE household measures) and the Mifflin-St Jeor equation; Garfada does not replace a dietitian or a doctor.
Camera, photos and files
When you import a meal plan, a lab report or a body composition assessment, Garfada asks for camera access to take the photo, or opens the iOS photo or file picker, which hands the app only the image or PDF you chose. Text recognition (OCR) runs on the device with Apple's Vision, and the image is not kept: the app saves only the structured text you reviewed and confirmed. Permissions can be revoked in Settings, Privacy & Security.
The assistant and Apple Intelligence
The chat uses Apple's Foundation Models, the language model that runs inside the iPhone when Apple Intelligence is on. What you type and the summary of your day are processed on the device and are not sent to Apple or to LEVELHARD. The assistant only proposes: an entry or a memory about you enters the diary only after you tap confirm, and memories can be deleted at any time in the You tab. Without Apple Intelligence, the assistant answers from the food database, also on the device.
Export and import
You can export everything as JSON or CSV and import it back on another device. The file contains your entries, plan, lab results and body composition; you choose where it goes, through the iOS sharing features. Garfada sends nothing on its own.
What Garfada does not do
It shows no ads. It uses no analytics tools, third-party SDKs or crash reporting services. It does not track you across apps or websites, so it never asks for tracking permission. It does not access the microphone, contacts, location, calendar or the Health app. It shares nothing with third parties, because it collects nothing.
Children
Garfada is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, regardless of age.
Your rights
The LGPD (Brazilian law 13.709/2018) guarantees confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymization, portability and deletion of your data, and withdrawal of consent. Since Garfada neither collects nor transmits anything, there is no database about you outside your device: deleting an entry, a memory, a plan or a lab report in the app, or uninstalling it, removes everything it kept. Changes to this policy
If the app changes in a way that affects this policy, the text changes with it and the date at the top is updated. The current version is always the one published on this page, the same one cited in Garfada's App Store listing.
