Garfada Privacy

Your diary stays on your device, on iPhone and Android, with no account or ads. On-device features and Google’s Android technical metrics are explained below.
Who is responsible
Garfada is published by LEVELHARD, Roque Ribeiro da Silva. This policy covers iOS and Android; platform differences are identified in each section. Data protection and privacy requests: roque.ribeiro@levelhard.com.br.
Android — diary and health information
Profile, goals, entered weight and measurements, food, water, exam records, notes and confirmed memories stay in Garfada’s private storage. There is no account, advertising or synchronization of these records with LEVELHARD. This is sensitive information: you choose what to record and review. The app does not connect to healthcare services or Health Connect.
Android — documents you choose
You select an image, PDF or text through the system picker. Text recognition in images uses Google ML Kit on your device. Review the result before saving structured records. This Android version does not request camera or microphone access or read your entire photo library.
Android — optional assistant
The assistant uses Google ML Kit/Gemini Nano on compatible devices. You confirm model preparation and any required download. Text, daily context, confirmed memories and results are processed on your device, with no cloud-generation fallback. Suggestions may be wrong and require review; nutritional values come from the app’s tables and calculations. Manual diary features remain available without the assistant.
Android — Google ML Kit technical data
Google ML Kit processes text, images and results on your device. The SDK sends Google usage and diagnostic metrics: device and app information, installation identifiers and, for generative features, user or device identifiers, configured languages, API configuration, input and output sizes, events, errors and performance. It may also check for updates and prepare models. This communication uses HTTPS and may occur when the SDK initializes; it is not limited to an assistant conversation. LEVELHARD adds no usage analytics of its own. The links below explain Google’s processing.
Android — exports and deletion
You choose when to export, import or share through Android’s system features, without broad file access. The selected destination receives the chosen content and follows its own policy. Exported backups have no password of their own. Automatic cloud backup and automatic transfer of app data between devices are disabled. Deleting records, clearing app storage in Android settings or uninstalling removes the corresponding local data, but not copies you exported or sent. Deleting local data does not delete technical metrics Google may retain under its policies.
Health and Garfada’s limits
Garfada is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent medical conditions. Nutritional estimates do not replace individual guidance. Consult a healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
iPhone (iOS) — There is no account, and no network
There is no sign-up, login, password or cloud profile. The app does not ask for your email, phone or any document. Garfada does not talk to the internet: there is no server, no API and no analytics service. Everything happens on the device, airplane mode included.
iPhone (iOS) — What stays on your device
The name you choose to be called, weight, height, age, biological sex, activity level and goal (used only to compute your daily target), the foods and water you log, the meal plan you imported, the lab results and body composition assessments you imported, the memories you confirmed for the assistant, and your trophies and level. All of it lives in the app's private area and is gone when you uninstall. There is no copy on any server, because there is no server. Garfada does not use iCloud or the Health app in this version.
iPhone (iOS) — Health data
Weight, food, lab results and body composition are sensitive information, and that is exactly why Garfada does not transmit them. Imported lab results and body composition are stored and shown as they were read, with a date; the app does not interpret them, does not flag values as high or low and does not suggest treatment. Nutrition values and the target are estimates computed from public tables (TACO, from NEPA/UNICAMP, and IBGE household measures) and the Mifflin-St Jeor equation; Garfada does not replace a dietitian or a doctor.
iPhone (iOS) — Camera, photos and files
When you import a meal plan, a lab report or a body composition assessment, Garfada asks for camera access to take the photo, or opens the iOS photo or file picker, which hands the app only the image or PDF you chose. Text recognition (OCR) runs on the device with Apple's Vision, and the image is not kept: the app saves only the structured text you reviewed and confirmed. Permissions can be revoked in Settings, Privacy & Security.
iPhone (iOS) — The assistant and Apple Intelligence
The chat uses Apple's Foundation Models, the language model that runs inside the iPhone when Apple Intelligence is on. What you type and the summary of your day are processed on the device and are not sent to Apple or to LEVELHARD. The assistant only proposes: an entry or a memory about you enters the diary only after you tap confirm, and memories can be deleted at any time in the You tab. Without Apple Intelligence, the assistant answers from the food database, also on the device.
iPhone (iOS) — Export and import
You can export everything as JSON or CSV and import it back on another device. The file contains your entries, plan, lab results and body composition; you choose where it goes, through the iOS sharing features. Garfada sends nothing on its own.
iPhone (iOS) — What Garfada does not do
It shows no ads. It uses no analytics tools, third-party SDKs or crash reporting services. It does not track you across apps or websites, so it never asks for tracking permission. It does not access the microphone, contacts, location, calendar or the Health app. It shares nothing with third parties, because it collects nothing.

Garfada is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, regardless of age.
iPhone (iOS) — Your rights
The LGPD (Brazilian law 13.709/2018) guarantees confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymization, portability and deletion of your data, and withdrawal of consent. Since Garfada neither collects nor transmits anything, there is no database about you outside your device: deleting an entry, a memory, a plan or a lab report in the app, or uninstalling it, removes everything it kept. If the app changes in a way that affects this policy, the text changes with it and the date at the top is updated. The current version is always the one published on this page, the same one cited in Garfada's App Store listing.
